Xenopus laevis         E3 adaptor/Cullin RING/DCX/DWD

※ E3 adaptor/Cullin RING/DCX/DWD family introduction

DWD represents "DDB1-binding WD40 protein", a 16-residue motif as the subdomain of WD40 repeats (1). Members of DWD family can directly bind to the DDB1 and serve as the substrate recognition subunits of the DCX (DDB1-CUL4-X-box) E3 ligase complex, which display important functions in eukaryotic biology and in human diseases (2).
